REFLECTING ON GORDON DAVIS AND THE FUTURE OF THE IS DISCIPLINE (LIVESTREAM)
Gordon Davis was known as one of the founders of the academic discipline of information systems. Alongside his colleagues, Gary Dickson and Tom Hoffman, he started the first formal academic degree program in MIS at the University of Minnesota and was also the first to write a textbook for the discipline. His foundational work went on to serve as a model for academic programs at other universities.
This session will explore the impact of not only Gordon’s life and work in the field, but also the impact an individual can have on the entire field of information systems through research, volunteerism, and more.
